The clarinetist Pau Rodríguez Ruiz, member of a musicians family, began his musical education in La Lira Ampostina music school in his home town Amposta. Later he has studied his bachelor’s degree in classical and contemporary performance at the Conservatori Superior de música del Liceu in Barcelona with professor Isaac Rodríguez. In 2016 he finished his master’s degree in classical performance at the Sibelius Academy, University of the Arts in Helsinki, Finland, in the class of Tuulia Ylönen. In addition to the classical performance studies, he also took pedagogical clarinet courses at the same university.
Pau Rodriguez Ruiz is a founding member of the cello, clarinet and piano trio “Trio Kaukokaipuu”, a chamber music group formed in 2015. This accomplished group has won several competitions, performed around Europe and premiered works commissioned specifically for them from current composers. Pau has also performed in orchestras such the Orquestra Simfònica del Liceu (Barcelona), under the principal conductor Josep Pons, Helsinki Philharmonic Orchestra, Finnish National Opera Ballet Orchestra in Helsinki and Etihad Chamber Orchestra in Jordan.
Since 2017, Pau is the clarinet professor in Barenboim-Said Foundation in Ramallah, (Palestine).
